BackMotivation Have you ever been a victim of algorithmic bias?I interviewed 3 users about their views on algorithmic bias in daily life.
01 Student
Algorithmic Pricing
02 A Female Applicant
AI Resume Screening
03 An IT Worker
Delivery Riders' Challenges Time limit for a 3 km delivery:
Algorithmic Pricing:Apps quote different prices for the same product based on factors such as device type and spending patterns.
AI Resume Screening: Reinforce gender bias by favoring specific words that frequently used by one gender.
Riders' Challenges:Algorithms continuously shorten delivery times for riders, ignoring their safety and well-being.
Voice from student:“This is unfair! The algorithm needs to be more transparent.”
Voice from female:"The company should also be responsible for this issue. What if they take into account the words commonly used by females?"
Voice from IT worker: "Is it really the platform and algorithms that trap delivery riders? It's the capitalists who are pulling the strings behind it all."
Conclusion:Algorithmic bias is not the root issue; it reflects deeper systemic forces. Who is truly designing, controlling, and benefiting from these biased systems?
